Greece

GR_Map1 My Travels in Greece I met up with travel-pal, William (check out his bio in the People/Accomplices Link), Julie from Sydney, Ben & Wendy from London. Julie, Wendy & William co-own a 31-ft sailboat in Corfu that was not seaworthy when we arrived so we all took ferries between islands. My Corfu/Paxos travel-pal list includes the 3 boat owners, Ben and Will’s cousin, Geraldine Atkins and her travel-friend, Di, Dawn Inskip and Chris James who both have property on Paxos. The restaurant where we met on the evening we arrived was Cafe Italiano.

I never spent much time on the Greek mainland except for 3 days in Athens but the islands are spectacular. I visited 6 islands: Corfu, Paxos (Paxi), Antipaxos, Hydra, Poros and Aegina — the last 3 on a http://www.athensguide.com/aegina.html”>one-day cruise out of Athens. We spent a week exploring Paxos. Greek A typical Greek lunch — Salad with black olives, feta cheese, luscious olive oil & crusty bread The cafes seem to be very popular. I came to the conclusion that Greeks don’t dine at home — a cab driver agreed with me — he told me that no one under the age of 35 eats at home.
