I spent a few days in Singapore during my SE Asia trip in October 2013. Singapore is an island city. Its population is about three millions people. Most Singaporeans live in high-rise apartments. Singapore has lots of parks and open spaces. It is also a very clean city.
Singapore’s Central Business District (CBD) also known as the Downtown Core is the city-states financial and commercial heart. It’s a bustling area packed with skyscrapers, financial institutions, and cultural landmarks. The CBD is located south of the Singapore River, Marina Bay, and Chinatown. It’s a key area for both local and international businesses.
Let’s look at the old part of the city-state. In Chinatown, there are rows of old shop houses. The government buildings in Singapore are also very unique and antique. They date from the British colonial days.
The food is fabulous. Singapore’s restaurants provide Chinese, Indian, Malay, American and European food.
Since Singapore lies (almost) on the equator, it has a tropical climate — hot and humid.
